The Navigation to Success School-Based Substance Prevention Program is a structured 16-week, research-based and evidence-informed prevention curriculum designed to reduce youth alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use while strengthening protective factors that support academic and personal success. Grounded in evidence-based prevention strategies and social-emotional learning frameworks, the program equips students with practical skills in decision-making, refusal techniques, goal setting, emotional regulation, and peer resistance. Lessons are interactive and developmentally appropriate, using real-life scenarios to help students understand the short- and long-term risks associated with substance use. The program is facilitated by highly trained Health & Wellness Facilitators who deliver engaging instruction, build supportive relationships with students, and reinforce positive behavior change through consistent mentoring and guidance. Throughout the 16 weeks, students build resilience, strengthen positive identity development, and enhance critical thinking skills that support healthy choices. The curriculum emphasizes protective factors such as strong relationships, school connectedness, and future orientation. By integrating researched and evidence-based approaches, Navigation to Success supports students in staying drug-free, improving academic engagement, and developing the skills needed to navigate challenges with confidence and purpose.
